SAND® Checks (Self-Authenticated Negotiable Documents) contain a printed, encrypted check authentication code, which prevents alteration, forgeries or counterfeiting. The authentication code accurately confirms that the check is properly issued. Each code is unique, based on the issuer's encryption key, and the check amount, check number, payee, etc.
